الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
وَ خُضِ الْغَمَرَاتِ لِلْحَقِّ حَيْثُ كَانَ.

Imam Ali (as):
Leap into dangers for the sake of the truth wherever it might be.

Imam Ali (as)

مَا نِلْتَ مِنْ دُنْيَاكَ فَلَا تُكْثِرْ بِهِ فَرَحاً وَ مَا فَاتَكَ مِنْهَا فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَيْهِ حَزَناً.

Do not exult [in pride] over what you have gained from this world, and do not grieve for what has escaped you from this world.

Imam Ali (as)

أشدّ الذّنوب عند اللّه سبحانه ذنب استهان به راكبه‏.

The gravest of sins in the sight of Allah is a sin whose perpetrator deems insignificant.

Imam Ali (as)

إيّاكُم و المِزاحَ ؛ فإنّهُ يَجُرُّ السَّخيمَةَ و يُورِثُ الضَّغينَةَ، و هُو السَّبُّ الأصغَرُ .

Beware of [excessive] joking, for it causes resentment and brings about grudges, and it is the minor insult.

Imam Ali (as)

لَا يَكُونُ الْعَالِمُ عَالِماً حَتَّى لَا يَحْسُدَ مَنْ فَوْقَهُ وَ لَا يَحْتَقِرَ مَنْ دُونَهُ وَ لَا يَأْخُذَ عَلَى عِلْمِهِ شَيْئاً مِنْ حُطَامِ الدُّنْيَا.

A scholar will never be a [true] scholar until he does not envy one who is above him, does not belittle one who is lower than him [in rank],...

Imam Ali (as)

مَنْ صَارَعَ الْحَقَّ صَرَعَهُ

Whoever clashes with truth will be knocked down by it.

Imam Ali (as)

مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكْمُلَ إِيمَانُهُ فَلْيَكُنْ حُبُّهُ لِلَّهِ وَ بُغْضُهُ لِلَّهِ وَ رِضَاهُ لِلَّهِ وَ سَخَطُهُ لِلَّه‏ .

Whoever wishes for his faith to be complete, then let his love, his hate, his pleasure and his anger be exclusively for the sake of God.
