Imam Ali (as):
Allah has prescribed bearing witness as a way to return the denied rights [to their rightful owners].

Imam Ali (as):
Imam Ali (AS) said to a man soliciting advice from him, 'Do not be like the one who... guides others but misguides himself; is obeyed by others but he himself disobeys (Allah); he seeks fulfillment (of obligations towards himself) but does not fulfill his obligations (towards others)

قالَ رسولُ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله : ما آمَنَ بي مَن باتَ شَبْعانَ و جارُهُ جائعٌ . قالَ : و ما مِن أهلِ قريةٍ يَبِيتُ و فيهِم جائعٌ ، يَنظُرُ اللّهُ إليهِم يومَ القِيامَةِ .
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
The Prophet (s) said: 'He has no faith in me who sleeps the night satiated while his neighbour is hungry.' He has also said: 'No sooner do the people in a village sleep at night while there is someone in their midst who is hungry than Allah will not look at them on the Day of Resurrection.'

أعوذُ باللّهِ مِن جارِ السَّوءِ في دارِ إقامةٍ ، تَراكَ عَيْناهُ و يَرْعاكَ قَلْبُهُ ، إنْ رآكَ بخَيرٍ ساءَهُ ، و إنْ رآك بشَرٍّ سَرَّهُ .
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
I seek refuge in Allah from a bad neighbor, who keeps an eye on you and whose heart is watching you; if he sees you in a good condition, he becomes upset, and if he sees you in an adverse situation, he becomes happy.

Imam al-Kazim (as):
Neighbourliness is not only to desist from annoying [one's neighbour], but also to forbear annoyance [from him].
