مَنْ عَلِمَ وَ عَمِلَ وَ عَلَّمَ عُدَّ فِي اَلْمَلَكُوتِ اَلْأَعْظَمِ عَظِيماً

:

"Jesus (PBUH) said: He who knows, acts upon his knowledge and teaches it, is considered with glorious magnificence in the highest of heavens."

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):

إِنَّ الْعَالِمَ الْكَاتِمَ عِلْمَهُ يُبْعَثُ أَنْتَنَ أَهْلِ الْقِيَامَةِ رِيحاً تَلْعَنُهُ كُلُّ دَابَّة .

Imam Ali (as):

A scholar who conceals his knowledge [not teaching it to those who are worthy of it] will be raised on the Day of Resurrection with the most offensive smell and will be cursed by all creatures.

إِنَّ الْعَالِمَ إِذَا لَمْ يَعْمَلْ بِعِلْمِهِ، زَلَّتْ مَوْعِظَتُهُ عَنِ الْقُلُوبِ كَمَا يَزِلُّ الْمَطَرُ عَنِ الصَّفَا.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

When the knowledgeable man does not act upon his knowledge, his exhortation slips away from the hearts like the rain slips off a flat rock.

الإمام محمد الباقر (عليه السَّلام):

فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسانُ إِلى‏ طَعامِهِ‏ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَا طَعَامُهُ؟ قَالَ: عِلْمُهُ الَّذِي يَأْخُذُهُ، عَمَّنْ‏ يَأْخُذُهُ؟

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):

I asked Imam al-Baqir (as), regarding the verse: "Then let man look at his food.", What is meant by 'his food'? He replied: It means the knowledge he acquires, [he should consider] from whom he acquires it.

الإمام الكاظم (عليه السَّلام):

إذا ماتَ المؤمنُ .... ثُلِمَ في الإسلامِ ثُلمَةٌ لا يَسُدُّها شيءٌ ؛ لأنّ المؤمنينَ الفُقَهاءَ حُصونُ الإسلامِ كَحِصنِ سُورِ المَدينةِ لَها.

Imam al-Kazim (as):

When a jurist believer dies a void is left in Islam that nothing can ever again fill, and that is because the jurist believers are the fortresses that protect Islam just like the fortress and the walls that surround and protect the city.

No believer's death is more pleasing to Satan than the death of a jurist.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):

المؤمنُ إذا ماتَ وتَرَكَ وَرَقهً ‏واحِدَةً علَيها عِلمٌ تَكونُ تِلكَ الوَرَقةُ يَومَ القِيامَةِ سِترا فيما بَينَهُ وبَينَ النّارِ، وأعطاهُ اللّهُ تباركَ وتعالى بكُلِّ حَرفٍ مَكتوبٍ علَيها مَدينَةً أوسَعَ مِن الدُّنيا سَبعَ مَرّاتٍ.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

If a believer dies and leaves behind one piece of paper that has knowledge on it, that paper will be a guard for him on the Day of Resurrection protecting him from the Hellfire, and Allah Almighty will give him for every word written on that paper a city seven times larger than the world.
