الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):

الْحِلْمُ غِطَاءٌ سَاتِرٌ، وَالْعَقْلُ حُسَامٌ قَاطِعٌ، فَاسْتُرْ خَلَلَ خُلُقِكَ بِحِلْمِكَ، وَقَاتِلْ هَوَاكَ بِعَقْلِكَ

Imam Ali (as):

Forbearance is a curtain that conceals, and reason is a keen blade— veil your flaws by exercising forbearance and fight your passions by using your reason.

Thought is a polished mirror. A lesson learned counsels best. To shun doing what you dislike in others is discipline enough!

Vision is not dependent on the eyes, for the eyes may often belie their owners, yet the mind never deceives a man seeking its counsel.
