[فَرَضَ اللَّهُ] تَرْكَ الزِّنَى تَحْصِيناً لِلنَّسَبِ وَ تَرْكَ اللِّوَاطِ تَكْثِيراً لِلنَّسْلِ
Imam Ali (as):
Allah has prescribed... the abandonment of adultery in order to safeguard descent; and the abandonment of sodomy to multiply offspring.

عنه عليه السلام ـ في قولِهِ تعالى : «و اتَّقُوا اللّهَ الَّذي تَساءَلُونَ بهِ و الأرْحامَ» ـ : هي أرحامُ الناسِ، إنّ اللّهَ عزّ و جلّ أمَرَ بِصِلَتِها و عَظَّمَها ، أ لا تَرى أنَّهُ جَعَلَها مِنهُ ؟!
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam al-Sadiq (AS), with regards to God's verse: “Be wary of Allah, in whose Name you adjure one another and [of severing ties with] blood relations.”, said: 'It refers to people's blood relations, with whom Allah has ordered the ties to be maintained and has venerated them. Do you not see that He has mentioned them alongside His own name?'

بَلَغَنِي عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام‏ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه و آله، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ‏، أَهْلُ بَيْتِي أَبَوْا إِلَّا تَوَثُّباً عَلَيَّ وَ قَطِيعَةً لِي وَ شَتِيمَةً، فَأَرْفُضُهُمْ؟ قَالَ: إِذاً يَرْفُضَكُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعاً. قَالَ: فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ: تَصِلُ مَنْ قَطَعَكَ، وَ تُعْطِي مَنْ حَرَمَكَ، وَ تَعْفُو عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَكَ؛ فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذلِكَ كَانَ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ‏ عَلَيْهِمْ ظَهِيرٌ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
A man came to the prophet (s) and said, 'O messenger of Allah, my family are only intent on harming me, cutting me off and abusing me. Shall I abandon them?' The prophet (s) said, 'Then Allah will abandon you all.' He said, 'What should I do then?' The prophet (s) said, 'Maintain relations with those who cut you off, grant those who deprive you, and pardon those who are unjust to you, and once you have done so, Allah will support you against them.'

لَا تُمَلِّكِ الْمَرْأَةَ مَا جَاوَزَ نَفْسَهَا فَإِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ رَيْحَانَةٌ وَ لَيْسَتْ بِقَهْرَمَانَةٍ.
Imam Ali (as):
Do not impose upon a women that which is beyond her capability, for a women is a flower and not an administrator.
