Hadiths Of The Best Deeds in the Sight of God

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

مِن أحبِّ الأعمالِ إلى اللّهِ عزّ و جلّ إدْخالُ السُّرورِ على المؤمنِ : إشْباعُ جَوْعَتِهِ ، أو تَنْفِيسُ كُرْبَتِهِ ، أو قَضاءُ دَينِهِ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Of the best deeds in the sight of Allah is bringing happiness to a believer; either by driving away his hunger, or relieving him of his distress, or repaying his debts.

الإمام الكاظم (عليه السَّلام):

مَن طَلَبَ هذا الرِّزقَ مِن حِلِّهِ لِيَعودَ بهِ عَلى نفسِهِ و عِيالِهِ كانَ كالمُجاهِدِ في سبيلِ اللّهِ عزّ و جلّ ، فإن غَلَبَ علَيهِ فَلْيَستَدِنْ عَلَى اللّهِ و عَلى رسولِهِ صلى الله عليه و آله ما يَقوتُ بهِ عِيالَهُ .

Imam al-Kazim (as):

One who seeks to gain sustenance for himself and his family in a lawful manner is as the one who fights in the way of Allah. But if he is unable to do so he may incur debt, trusting in Allah and His Prophet, in order to ensure provisions for his family.

كُلُّ ذَنبٍ يُكَفِّرُهُ القَتلُ في سَبيلِ اللّهِ عزّ و جلّ إلاّ الدَّينَ لا كَفّارَةَ لَهُ إلاّ أداؤهُ ، أو يَقضِي صاحِبُهُ ، أو يَعفُو الذي لَهُ الحَقُّ .

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):

Every sin is expiated with getting killed in the way of Allah, Mighty and Exalted, except for debt, for there is no expiation for it other than its repayment; so it must be repaid unless the creditor forgoes his right.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

Whoever gives respite to a straitened person, Allah will shade him with His Shade on the Day when no shade will avail other than His Shade.

Imam Ali (as):

Habituate yourself to performing noble deeds and paying the debts of others, and your soul will be elevated as a result.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):

مَن أقرَضَ مُؤمنا قَرضا يَنتَظِرُ بهِ‏ مَيسورَهُ كانَ مالُهُ في زَكاةٍ، وكانَ هو في صَلاةٍ مِن المَلائكةِ حتّى يُؤَدِّيَهُ إلَيهِ.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

Whoever gives a loan to a believer and waits until he is able [to return it], his money will be regarded as Zakat (i.e. alms-tax), and the angels will pray for him until his loan is returned.
