Hadiths Of Harming a Believing Servant of God

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِيَأْذَنْ بِحَرْبٍ مِنِّي مَنْ آذَى عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِنَ وَ لْيَأْمَنْ غَضَبِي مَنْ أَكْرَمَ عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِن .‏

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Allah, Mighty and Exalted, says: 'He who harms a believing servant of Mine must expect a war waged by Me, and he who honors a believing servant of Mine is safe from My wrath.'

تَواصَلوا و تَبارُّوا و تَراحَموا ، و كونوا إخْوَةً بَرَرَةً كما أمرَكُمُ اللّهُ عزّ و جلّ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Stay in touch with one another, be good to one another, have mercy on one another and be righteous brothers just as Allah, Mighty and Exalted, has commanded you.

ليسَ كلُّ مَن قالَ بوَلايتِنا مؤمنا ، و لكنْ جُعِلوا اُنْسا للمؤمنينَ .

Imam al-Kazim (as):

Not everyone who claims to believe in our Wilaya is a [true] believer, rather they have been made to be a source of consolation for the [true] believers.

It suffices for a man to depend on his brother to charge him with his need.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):

يا معشرَ مَن أسلَمَ بلِسانِهِ و لَم يُسلِمْ بقلبِهِ، لا تَتَبَّعوا عَثَراتِ المسلِمينَ ؛ فإنّه مَن تَتَبَّعَ عَثَراتِ المسلِمينَ تَتَبَّعَ اللّهُ عَثْرتَهُ ، و مَن تَتَبَّعَ اللّهُ عَثْرتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ .

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

O community of those who have proclaimed faith with their tongues but have not truly submitted in their hearts, do not probe for flaws in believers, for a man who probes the flaws of his brothers will have Allah probe his own flaws; and when Allah probes the flaws of a man, He will expose him.

لا تُبدِ الشَّماتَةَ لأخيكَ ؛ فَيَرحَمَهُ اللّهُ و يُصَيِّرَها بكَ .

Do not express malicious gloating at your brother [for a sin or misfortune] for Allah will have mercy on him as a result and make it befall you instead.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Verily the believer finds relief when being with his fellow believer, just as a thirsty person find relief upon drinking fresh water.

لَا يَزَالُ إِبْلِيسُ فَرِحاً مَا اهْتَجَرَ الْمُسْلِمَانِ؛ فَإِذَا الْتَقَيَا اصْطَكَّتْ‏ رُكْبَتَاهُ، وَ تَخَلَّعَتْ أَوْصَالُهُ‏.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Satan continues to be happy as long as two Muslims forsake each other, and when they reconcile again his knees tremble and his joints break apart.

تَنَافَسُوا فِي الْمَعْرُوفِ لِإِخْوَانِكُمْ، وَ كُونُوا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ؛ فَإِنَّ لِلْجَنَّةِ بَاباً يُقَالُ لَهُ: الْمَعْرُوفُ، لَايَدْخُلُهُ إِلَّا مَنِ اصْطَنَعَ الْمَعْرُوفَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Compete with each other in doing good to your brothers and strive to be of the people of good, for verily there is a gate for paradise called ‘[the door of] goodness’ which no one will enter except those who perform acts of kindness in the world.
