Hadiths Of

مَنْ عَلِمَ وَ عَمِلَ وَ عَلَّمَ عُدَّ فِي اَلْمَلَكُوتِ اَلْأَعْظَمِ عَظِيماً

:

"Jesus (PBUH) said: He who knows, acts upon his knowledge and teaches it, is considered with glorious magnificence in the highest of heavens."

قَالَ عِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ لِرَجُلٍ مَا تَصْنَعُ قَالَ أَتَعَبَّدُ قَالَ فَمَنْ يَعُودُ عَلَيْكَ قَالَ أَخِي قَالَ أَخُوكَ أَعْبَدُ مِنْكَ

:

Prophet Jesus (AS) asked a man, ‘What are you doing?’ The man replied, ‘I am worshipping.’ So he asked, ‘Then who is it that supports you [financially]?’ He replied, ‘My brother’, to which Prophet Jesus (AS) said, ‘Your brother is a better worshipper than you.’

الإمام السّجاد (عليه السَّلام):

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ اَلْحُسَيْنِ ع فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ مَسَائِلَ فَأَجَابَ ثُمَّ عَادَ لِيَسْأَلَ عَنْ مِثْلِهَا فَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ اَلْحُسَيْنِ ع مَكْتُوبٌ فِي اَلْإِنْجِيلِ لاَ تَطْلُبُوا عِلْمَ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ وَ لَمَّا تَعْمَلُوا بِمَا عَلِمْتُمْ فَإِنَّ اَلْعِلْمَ إِذَا لَمْ يُعْمَلْ بِهِ لَمْ يَزْدَدْ صَاحِبُهُ إِلاَّ كُفْراً وَ لَمْ يَزْدَدْ مِنَ اَللَّهِ إِلاَّ بُعْداً .

Imam al-Sajjad (as):

"Imam Sajjad (PBUH) said: In the Gospel, it is written: Do not seek knowledg of that which you do not know until you act upon that which you already know. For verily knowledge that is not acted upon will only take you further away from God."

Jesus (PBUH) told his disciples: Increase your actions in that which the Fire does not consume. They then asked: And what is that? Jesus replied: Good deeds

لا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ: إِنَّ أَحَداً أَوْلَى بِفِعْلِ الْخَيْرِ مِنِّي فَيَكُونَ وَاللهِ كَذلِكَ، إِنَّ لِلْخَيْرِ وَالشَّرِّ أَهْلاً، فَمَهْمَا تَرَكْتُمُوهُ مِنْهُمَا كَفَاكُمُوهُ أَهْلُهُ

Imam Ali (as):

No one among you should say that so-and-so is better able to do good than I, else, by God, it will be so. Both good and evil have their adherents—whatever you leave off doing, others will step forward to do.

لَا تَجْعَلُوا عِلْمَكُمْ جَهْلًا وَ يَقِينَكُمْ شَكّاً إِذَا عَلِمْتُمْ فَاعْمَلُوا وَ إِذَا تَيَقَّنْتُمْ فَأَقْدِمُوا

Imam Ali (as):

Do not turn your knowledge into ignorance or your conviction into doubt. When you gain knowledge act (upon it) and when you acquire conviction proceed (on its basis).
