قِيلَ لِعِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ مَنْ أَدَّبَكَ قَالَ مَا أَدَّبَنِي أَحَدٌ رَأَيْتُ قُبْحَ اَلْجَهْلِ فَجَانَبْتُهُ.

:

Jesus (PBUH) was asked: Who taught you good manners? He replied: No one has taught me good manners. I saw the ugliness of ignorance and I put it aside.

إِنَ‏ خَيْرَ مَا وَرَّثَ‏ الْآبَاءُ لِأَبْنَائِهِمُ الْأَدَبُ، لَاالْمَالُ؛ فَإِنَّ الْمَالَ يَذْهَبُ، وَ الْأَدَبَ يَبْقى‏ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

The best inheritance parents bequeath their progeny are good manners, not wealth, for wealth goes away but good manners endure.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

إنّ اللّهَ عزّ و جلّ أدّبَ نبيَّه فأحسنَ أدبَهُ ، فلَمّا أكمَلَ لَهُ الأدبَ قالَ : «و إنّكَ لَعلَى خُلُقٍ عظيمٍ» ، ثمّ فَوّضَ إليهِ أمرَ الدِّينِ و الاُمّة لِيَسُوسَ عِبادَهُ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Verily Allah Almighty disciplined His messenger with an excellent discipline, and when He perfected his manners He said: “And indeed, you are of a sublime moral character.” Then He entrusted to him the matters of religion and the community that he may manage the affairs of His servants.

الإمام السّجاد (عليه السَّلام):

يقولُ اللّهُ تباركَ و تعالى لِعبدٍ مِن عَبِيدِهِ يَومَ القِيامَةِ : أ شَكَرتَ فُلانا ؟ فيقولُ : بَل شَكَرتُكَ يا ربِّ ، فيقولُ : لَم تَشكُرْني إذ لَم تَشكُرْهُ .

Imam al-Sajjad (as):

Allah will ask one of His servants on the Day of Resurrection, ‘Did you thank x?’, and the servant will reply, ‘No, but I thanked You instead, O Lord.’ Allah will reply, 'You have not thanked Me because you did not thank him.'
