Imam Ali (as):
When Imam Ali, peace be upon him, put Ziyad ibn Abih in place of Abdullah ibn Abbas over Fars (in Persia) and its revenues, he had a long conversation with him in which he prohibited him from collecting the land tax before it came due. Therein, he said: Act on justice and keep aloof from violence and injustice because violence will lead them to forsake their abodes while injustice will prompt them to take up arms.

Imam Ali (as):
Imam Ali (AS) was asked about the Unity of Allah and His justice, and he replied: Unity means that you do not subject Him to the limitations of your imagination, and justice means that you do not lay any blame on Him.

Imam Ali (as):
ʿAlī was asked, “Which is better, justice or generosity?” he replied: Justice puts things in their rightful place, while generosity takes things out of their proper direction. Justice is a universal motivator, while generosity is a particular caretaker. Thus, justice is nobler and better of the two.
