الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):

[فَرَضَ اللَّهُ] تَرْكَ الْكَذِبِ تَشْرِيفاً لِلصِّدْقِ

Imam Ali (as):

Allah has prescribed... the abandonment of lying in order to venerate the truth.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمَا يَقُولُ لِوُلْدِهِ: اتَّقُوا الْكَذِبَ الصَّغِيرَ مِنْهُ وَ الْكَبِيرَ فِي كُلِّ جِدٍّ وَ هَزْلٍ؛ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا كَذَبَ فِي الصَّغِيرِ اجْتَرى‏ عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Imam Zayn al-Abidin (AS) would often say to his children, 'Be cautious of lies, both big and small, whether seriously and in jest, for when a man tells a lie about a trivial matter, he will have the audacity to tell a big lie.'
