يَا عَبِيدَ اَلسَّوْءِ تَلُومُونَ اَلنَّاسَ عَلَى اَلظَّنِّ وَ لاَ تَلُومُونَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ عَلَى اَلْيَقِينِ
:
"Jesus (PBUH) said: O God's sinful servants! You blame people based on mere suspicion, while you don't blame yourselves even while certain of your own faults."

:
Accompanied by the Apostles, Jesus (PBUH) passed by the carcass of a dog. They said What a terrible stench this dog has! Jesus then said: What white teeth it has!

Imam Ali (as):
Don’t regard a statement uttered by any person as spiteful if you can find a way to interpret it as good.

ضَعْ أَمْرَ أَخِيكَ عَلى‏ أَحْسَنِهِ حَتّى‏ يَأْتِيَكَ‏ مَا يَغْلِبُكَ‏ مِنْهُ، وَ لَاتَظُنَّنَ‏ بِكَلِمَةٍ خَرَجَتْ مِنْ أَخِيكَ سُوءاً وَ أَنْتَ تَجِدُ لَهَا فِي الْخَيْرِ مَحْمِلًا.
Imam Ali (as):
See the best in any situation involving a fellow brother, until you experience something from him which proves you wrong, and do not assume the worst about something that your brother may say if you can find the possibility for good therein.

حُسْنُ الظَّنِّ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ لَاتَرْجُوَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ، وَ لَا تَخَافَ إِلَّا ذَنْبَكَ‏.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Having a good opinion about Allah means that you place your hope in no one but Him, and that you fear nothing but your own sins.

أَحْسِنِ‏ الظَّنَّ بِاللَّهِ؛ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ: أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِ‏ بِي‏، إِنْ خَيْراً فَخَيْراً، وَ إِنْ شَرّاً فَشَرّاً.
Imam al-Reḍa (as):
Entertain the best opinion about Allah, For Allah says: I deal with my believing servant according to his opinion about Me. If he thinks good about Me, then I will be good to him, and if he thinks bad about me, I will treat him accordingly.

لَايَحْسُنُ ظَنُّ عَبْدٍ مُؤْمِنٍ بِاللَّهِ إِلَّا كَانَ اللَّهُ عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِ؛ لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ كَرِيمٌ، بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرَاتُ‏، يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يَكُونَ عَبْدُهُ الْمُؤْمِنُ قَدْ أَحْسَنَ بِهِ الظَّنَّ، ثُمَّ يُخْلِفَ ظَنَّهُ وَ رَجَاءَهُ؛ فَأَحْسِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الظَّنَّ، وَ ارْغَبُوا إِلَيْهِ.
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
No sooner does a faithful servant entertain a good opinion about Allah than Allah treats him according to his opinion, for Allah is Magnanimous and all good is in His hand, and He would be too ashamed to treat His servant contrary to his opinion and hope when he entertains a good opinion about Him, therefore, have a good opinion about Allah and be desirous towards Him.

Imam Ali (as):
He who refutes suspicious thoughts about his brother his contract is valid and his heart at rest.

رُوِيَ أنّ عيسى عليه السلام مَرَّ و الحَوارِيّونَ عَلى جيفَةِ كَلبٍ، فقالَ الحَوارِيّونَ: ما أنتَنَ ريحَ هذا الكَلبَ! فقالَ عيسى عليه السلام: ما أشَدَّ بَياضَ أسنانِهِ!

It is narrated that Prophet Jesus (AS) was passing with his disciples by the corpse of a dog, when the disciples exclaimed, What an awful stench this dog has! to which Prophet Jesus (AS) retorted, How white are his teeth!
