يَا جَابِرُ مَنْ كَثُرَتْ نِعَمُ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ كَثُرَتْ حَوَائِجُ اَلنَّاسِ إِلَيْهِ فَمَنْ قَامَ لِلَّهِ فِيهَا بِمَا يَجِبُ فِيهَا عَرَّضَهَا لِلدَّوَامِ وَ اَلْبَقَاءِ وَ مَنْ لَمْ يَقُمْ فِيهَا بِمَا يَجِبُ عَرَّضَهَا لِلزَّوَالِ وَ اَلْفَنَاءِ
Imam Ali (as):
The one upon whom Allah's bounties are plenty, people's needs from him increase accordingly. So, if he uses them for Allah in the way he must, he causes them to continue and remain. But if he does not use them in the way that he must, He will expose them to decay and destruction.

زُهْدُكَ فِي رَاغِبٍ فِيكَ نُقْصَانُ حَظٍّ، وَرَغْبَتُكَ فِي زَاهِدٍ فِيكَ ذُلُّ نَفْسٍ
Imam Ali (as):
If you spurn a person who wants you, you reduce your designated share. If you want a person who spurns you, you humiliate yourself.

وقال عليه السلام لغالب بن صعصعة أبي الفرزدق، في كلام دار بينهما: مَا فَعَلَتْ إِبِلُكَ الْكثِيرَةُ؟ قال: ذَعْذَعَتْها الحُقُوقُ يا أميرالمؤمنين فَقال عليه السلام : ذَاكَ أَحْمَدُ سُبُلِهَا
Imam Ali (as):
ʿAlī said to Ghālib ibn Ṣaʿṣaʿah, Farazdaq’s father, during a longer conversation: What happened to your large herd of camels? Ghālib replied, “The winds of duty have scattered them, Commander of the Faithful,” and ʿAlī responded: That is the most admirable path they could have taken.

The oppressor among the people has three signs: he oppresses his superior by disobeying him, and his junior by imposing his authority and he supports other oppressors

مَوَدَّةُ الْآبَاءِ قَرَابَةٌ بَيْنَ الْأَبْنَاءِ وَ الْقَرَابَةُ إِلَى الْمَوَدَّةِ أَحْوَجُ مِنَ الْمَوَدَّةِ إِلَى الْقَرَابَةِ
Imam Ali (as):
Mutual love between fathers creates a form of kinship between their sons. And love does not need kinship so much as kinship needs love.
