آيات القرآن خزائن، فكلّما فتحت خزانة ينبغي لك أن تنظر ما فيها

Imam al-Sajjad (as):

The verses of the Quran are are each a treasury; so whenever you open a treasury, you must look attentively to see what it contains.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

دِينُ اللّهِ اسمُهُ الإسلامُ ، و هو دِينُ اللّهِ قبلَ أنْ تَكونوا حيثُ كُنتُم ، و بَعدَ أنْ تكونوا ، فمَن أقَرَّ بدينِ اللّهِ فهُو مسلِمٌ ، و مَن عَمِلَ بما أمرَ اللّهُ عزّ و جلّ بهِ فهُو مؤمنٌ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

God’s religion is Islam and it was God’s religion even before you came into being and after you came into existence, so whoever confesses to God’s religion is a Muslim and whoever acts upon what God Almighty has commanded is a believer.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):

رسولُ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله ـ في حجّةِ الوَداعِ ـ : يا أيُّها الناسُ ، و اللّهِ ما مِن شَيءٍ يُقَرِّبُكُم مِنَ الجَنَّةِ و يُباعِدُكُم مِنَ النّارِ إلاّ و قد أمَرتُكُم بهِ .

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

The Prophet (s) said in his farewell pilgrimage: 'O people, By Allah, there is nothing that brings you close to Paradise and distances you from the Fire except that I have commanded you with it.'

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَتَمَ بِنَبِيِّكُمُ النَّبِيِّينَ؛ فَلَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدَهُ أَبَداً، وَ خَتَمَ بِكِتَابِكُمُ الْكُتُبَ؛ فَلَا كِتَابَ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدا.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Allah sealed the prophets with your prophet, so there will never be a prophet after him, and He sealed the books with your Book, so there will never be a Book after it.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ- وَ هُوَ شَابٌّ مُؤْمِنٌ- اخْتَلَطَ الْقُرْآنُ بِلَحْمِهِ وَ دَمِهِ، وَ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ- عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- مَعَ السَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ الْبَرَرَةِ، وَ كَانَ الْقُرْآنُ حَجِيزاً عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Whoever recites the Qur'an in his youth, it will mix with his flesh and blood, and Allah will place him among the noble and pious angels, and the Quran will protect him [against the Fire] on the Day of Resurrection.

الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى مِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ، وَ تِبْيَانٌ مِنَ الْعَمى‏، وَ اسْتِقَالَةٌ مِنَ الْعَثْرَةِ، وَ نُورٌ مِنَ الظُّلْمَةِ، وَ ضِيَاءٌ مِنَ الْأَحْدَاثِ‏، وَ عِصْمَةٌ مِنَ الْهَلَكَةِ، وَ رُشْدٌ مِنَ الْغَوَايَةِ، وَ بَيَانٌ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ، وَ بَلَاغٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَى‏ الْآخِرَةِ، وَ فِيهِ كَمَالُ دِينِكُمْ، وَ مَا عَدَلَ أَحَدٌ عَنِ‏ الْقُرْآنِ‏ إِلَّا إِلَى النَّارِ.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

The Holy Quran is guidance against straying, clarification against blindness, stability against wavering, light against darkness, brightness in incidents, protection against destruction, the right course in every deviation, clear statement against mischief. It delivers one from this [lowly] world to [the prosperity of] the Hereafter. In it there lies the perfection of your religion. Whoever turns away from the Quran is headed to the fire.

إِنَّ هذَا الْقُرْآنَ فِيهِ مَنَارُ الْهُدى‏، وَ مَصَابِيحُ الدُّجى.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Verily this Quran contains the guideposts of guidance and the lanterns illuminating in the darkness.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

إِنَّ اللَّهَ- تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالى‏- أَنْزَلَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ تِبْيَانَ كُلِ‏ شَيْ‏ءٍ، حَتّى‏ وَ اللَّهِ، مَا تَرَكَ اللَّهُ شَيْئاً يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ الْعِبَادُ حَتّى‏ لَايَسْتَطِيعَ عَبْدٌ يَقُولُ: لَوْ كَانَ‏ هذَا أُنْزِلَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ إِلَّا وَ قَدْ أَنْزَلَهُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Indeed, Allah has revealed in the Quran explanation for all things. By Allah, He has not left out anything in the Quran which His servants would need, so that no servant would say: If only this was revealed in the Qur'an. [So nothing needs clarification] except that Allah has revealed it in the Qur'an.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):

يا مَعاشِرَ قُرّاءِ القرآنِ، اِتَّقُوا اللّهَ عزّ و جلّ فيما حَمَلَكُم مِن كتابِهِ فإنّي مَسؤولٌ و إنّكُم مَسؤولُونَ ، إنّي مَسؤولٌ عن تَبليغِ الرِّسالَةِ ، و أمّا أنتُم فَتُسألُونَ عمّا حُمِّلتُم مِن كتابِ اللّهِ و سُنَّتي .

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

O assembly of the reciters of the Quran, fear Allah regarding what He has entrusted to you of His book, for I am responsible and you are responsible; I am responsible for completing my mission and you will be asked about the duty placed upon you regarding the book of Allah and my Sunnah [prophetic practice].

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):

بَيِّنْهُ تِبيانا و لا تَهُذَّهُ هَذَّ الشِّعرِ ، و لا تَنثُرْهُ نَثرَ الرَّملِ ، و لكنْ أفزِعوا قُلوبَكُمُ القاسِيَةَ ، و لا يَكُن هَمُّ أحدِكُم آخِرَ السُّورَةِ .

Imam Ali (as):

Recite the Qur’an clearly, do not rave it like raving poetry, nor disperse it prosaically, and make your hardened hearts fear [the punishment] and do not let your only concern be [to reach] the end of the chapter.
