الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):

مَا كَانَ اللهُ لِيَفْتَحَ عَلَى عَبْدٍ بَابَ الشُّكْرِ وَيُغْلِقَ عَنْهُ بَابَ الزِّيَادَةِ، وَلاَ لِيَفْتَحَ عَلَى عَبْدٍ بَابَ الدُّعَاءِ وَيُغْلِقَ عَنْهُ بَابَ الاْجَابَةِ، وَلاَ لِيَفْتَحَ عَلَى عَبْدٍ بَابَ التَّوْبَةِ وَيُغْلِقَ عَنْهُ بَابَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

Imam Ali (as):

When God has opened the door of gratitude for you, he will not close the door of increase. When he has opened the door of prayer for you, he will not close the door of fulfillment. When he has opened the door of repentance for you, he will not close the door of forgiveness.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):

إِذَا كَانَتْ لَكَ إِلَى اللهِ سُبْحَانَهُ حَاجَةٌ فَابْدَأْ بِمَسْأَلَةِ الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى النَّبِيّ صلى الله عليه وآله ، ثُمَّ سَلْ حَاجَتَكَ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يُسْأَلَ حَاجَتَيْنِ فَيَقْضِيَ إِحْدَاهُمَا وَيَمْنَعَ الاْخْرَى

Imam Ali (as):

If you wish to ask God for something, begin by asking him to bless the Prophet, then put forward your petition. When God is asked for two things, he is too generous to grant the one and deny the other.

مَا الْمُبْتَلَى الَّذِى قَدِ اشْتَدَّ بِهِ الْبَلَاءُ بِأَحْوَجَ إِلَى الدُّعَاءِ الَّذِى لَا يَأْمَنُ الْبَلَاءَ

Imam Ali (as):

A person who is severely afflicted with a misfortune is not in greater need of praying than the one who has been spared from affliction but is not immune from it.

O Allah, Adorn me, like You have adorned the righteous, with being foremost in practicing virtues and doing good.

وَ لَا تَتْرُكُوا الْأَمْرَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَ النَّهْيَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ، فَيُوَلِّيَ اللَّهُ أُمُورَكُمْ شِرَارَكُمْ ثُمَّ تَدْعُونَ فَلَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَكُم‏ .

Imam Ali (as):

Never abandon the enjoinment of good and the prohibition of wrong lest the evil ones amongst you gain mastery over you whereafter you will supplicate [Allah] but you will not be answered.

تَسبيحُ فاطمةَ الزهراءِ عليها السلام مِنَ الذِكرِ الكثيرِ الذي قالَ اللّهُ عزّ و جلّ : «اُذْكُرُوا اللّهَ ذِكْراً كثيراً» .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

The glorification of Fatima al-Zahra (as) is a perfect example of the frequent remembrance which Allah has mentioned in the Quran, “Remember Allah with a frequent remembrance.”

أكثِرُوا ذِكرَ اللّهِ ما استَطَعتُم في كُلِّ ساعةٍ مِن ساعاتِ الليلِ و النهارِ ، فإنَّ اللّهَ أمَرَ بكَثرَةِ الذِكرِ لَهُ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Remember Allah frequently as much as you can every hour of the day and night, for verily Allah has commanded [us] to remember Him abundantly.

يَتَمَنّى المؤمنُ أنّه لم يُستَجَبْ لَهُ دَعوَةٌ في الدنيا مِمّا يَرى مِن حُسنِ الثوابِ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

The believer would wish that none of his supplications were answered in this world when he sees his beautiful and great rewards [in the Hereafter].

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

إنَّ العبدَ لَيَدعو فيَقولُ اللّهُ عزّ و جلّ لِلمَلَكينِ : قد اِستَجَبتُ لَهُ و لكنِ احبِسوهُ بحاجتِهِ ، فإنّي اُحِبُّ أن أسمَعَ صوتَهُ ، و إنَّ العبدَ لَيَدعو فيَقولُ اللّهُ تَبارَكَ وَ تَعالى : عَجِّلُوا لَهُ حاجَتَهُ فإنّي اُبغِضُ صوتَهُ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Verily a servant prays [to Allah], then Allah, Mighty and Exalted, says to the two angels [appointed for him], 'I have consented to his request, but withhold it [for a while], for I love to hear his voice.' And a servant prays to Allah, and Allah, Blessed and Most high, says, 'Be quick to give him what he wants, for I dislike to hear his voice.'
