مَنْ كَابَدَ الْأُمُورَ عَطِبَ
Imam Ali (as):
He who puts too much pressure on himself in his affairs will perish.

إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ الرَّفِيقُ رَفِيقاً لِأَنَّهُ يَرْفَقُكَ عَلَى صَلَاحِ دِينِكَ فَمَنْ أَعَانَكَ عَلَى صَلَاحِ دِينِكَ فَهُوَ الرَّفِيقُ الشَّفِيق‏ .
Imam Ali (as):
Verily a friend is called a friend [Rafiq], because he helps you gently [Yarfaquka] in improving your religion, so whoever helps you in improving your religion is a compassionate friend indeed.

الْكَلَامُ بَيْنَ خَلَّتَيْ سَوْءٍ هُمَا الْإِكْثَارُ وَ الْإِقْلَالُ فَالْإِكْثَارُ هَذَرٌ وَ الْإِقْلَالُ عَيٌّ [حَصر] .
Imam Ali (as):
[Balanced] Speech is between two attributes of badness, which are: excessive and too little [speech]; too much is prattle and too little is stammering and hesitation.

إِنَّ لِلسَّخَاءِ مِقْدَاراً فَإِنْ زَادَ عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ سَرَفٌ وَ لِلْحَزْمِ مِقْدَاراً فَإِنْ زَادَ عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ جُبْنٌ وَ لِلِاقْتِصَادِ مِقْدَاراً فَإِنْ زَادَ عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ بُخْلٌ وَ لِلشَّجَاعَةِ مِقْدَاراً فَإِنْ زَادَ عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ تَهَوُّر .
:
Verily generosity has a set limit, which if overstepped, turns into squandering. Prudence has a limit, which if overstepped, becomes cowardice. Economizing has a limit, which if overstepped, turns into miserliness. And courage has a set limit, which if overstepped, becomes foolhardiness.

المؤمنُ حَسَنُ المَعونةِ ، خفيفُ المَؤونةِ، جَيّدُ التّدبيرِ لِمَعيشتِهِ ، لا يُلْسَعُ مِن جُحْرٍ مرّتينِ .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
The believer is a great helper, and a very light burden. He is good at economizing for his livelihood, and is never stung twice from one hole [i.e. never makes the same mistake again].

إنّ هذا الدِّينَ مَتِينٌ فَأوغِلُوا فيهِ برِفقٍ ، و لا تُكَرِّهُوا عِبادَةَ اللّهِ إلى عِبادِ اللّهِ فتكونوا كالراكِبِ المُنْبَتِّ الذي لا سَفَرا قَطَعَ و لا ظَهْرا أبقى .
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Verily this religion is firm so penetrate into it gently, and do not arouse aversion for Allah's worship in His servants that they may become like shattered riders who have neither gotten further in their travel nor have any drive left to continue.

شِيعَتُنَا المُتَباذِلُونَ في وَلاَيتِنا ، المُتَحابُّونَ في مَوَدَّتِنا المُتَزاوِرُونَ في إحياءِ أمرِنا ، الذينَ إن غَضِبُوا لَم يَظلِمُوا ، و إن رَضُوا لَم يُسرِفُوا ، بَرَكَةٌ على مَن جاوَرُوا ، سِلمٌ لِمَن خالَطُوا .
Imam Ali (as):
Our Shia are those who give generously in our friendship, love one another in the light of our love, visit one another to revive our cause, those who if angered do not wrong, if pleased do not go to extremes. They are blessings to their neighbors, and at peace with those they associate with.

إنَّ العُقَلاءَ تَرَكوا فُضولَ الدّنيا فكَيفَ الذُّنوبُ ، و تَركُ الدّنيا مِنَ الفَضلِ و تَركُ الذُّنوبِ مِنَ الفَرضِ .
Imam al-Kazim (as):
The people of intellect have even abandoned the excesses of this world, let alone sins. Forsaking worldly excesses is [merely] a virtue whereas abandoning sins is an obligation.
