أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ رَفَعَتْ مِنْ بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا شَيْئاً مِنْ مَوْضِعٍ إِلَى مَوْضِعٍ تُرِيدُ بِهِ صَلَاحاً إِلَّا نَظَرَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهَا وَ مَنْ نَظَرَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ لَمْ يُعَذِّبْه .‏
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Any woman who so much as moves something from one place to another in her husband’s house in order to make an improvement is regarded by Allah with mercy and whoever Allah regards with mercy He does not punish.

لَا تُمَلِّكِ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ مَا يُجَاوِزُ نَفْسَهَا فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَنْعَمُ لِحَالِهَا وَ أَرْخَى لِبَالِهَا وَ أَدْوَمُ لِجَمَالِهَا فَإِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ رَيْحَانَةٌ وَ لَيْسَتْ بِقَهْرَمَانَة .
Imam Ali (as):
Do not assign to a woman a matter that is beyond her capability and strength, for this is more prosperous to her state, more fitting for her temperament and more enduring for her beauty. Verily a woman is a flower, and she is not an administrator.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يُحِبُّ الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي فِيهِ الْعُرْسُ وَ يُبْغِضُ الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي فِيهِ الطَّلَاقُ وَ مَا مِنْ شَيْ‏ءٍ أَبْغَضَ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنَ الطَّلَاقِ .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Verily Allah, Mighty and Exalted, loves the house wherein a wedding is taking place, and despises the house wherein a divorce is in process, and nothing is more abominable to Allah than divorce.

وَ أَمَّا حَقُّ الزَّوْجَةِ فَأَنْ تَعْلَمَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَعَلَهَا لَكَ سَكَناً وَ أُنْساً فَتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ نِعْمَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْكَ فَتُكْرِمَهَا وَ تَرْفُقَ بِهَا .
Imam al-Sajjad (as):
The right of your wife is for you to know that Allah has made her a source of tranquility and intimacy for you and to acknowledge that this is a favor upon you from Allah, Mighty and Exalted, and thus honor her and treat her gently.

قلتُ لأبي عبدِ اللّهِ عليه السلام : ما حَقُّ المرأةِ على زَوجِها الذي إذا فَعَلَهُ كانَ مُحسِنا ؟ قـالَ : يُشبِعُها و يَكسُوها ، و إن جَهِلَت غَفَرَ لَها.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
I asked Imam al-Sadiq (as), 'What are the rights of a woman upon her husband that if he fulfills, he is considered righteous?' The Imam said, '[It is] To provide her with clothes and food and to pardon her if she behaves rashly [with him]

إذا وَعَدتُمُ الصِّغارَ فأوفُوا لَهُم؛ فإنَّهُم يَرَونَ أنّكُم أنتُمُ الّذينَ تَرزُقونَهُم، وإنّ اللّهَ لايَغضَبُ بشَي‏ءٍ كغَضَبِهِ لِلنِّساءِ والصِّبيانِ.
Imam al-Kazim (as):
When you make a promise to children then fulfill that promise to them, because they perceive you as the one who provides them with the means of subsistence, and Allah is not angered by anything the way He is angered by [matters pertaining to] the rights of women and children.

خَمسُ خِصالٍ مَن فَقَدَ واحِدَهً مِنهُنَّ لَم يَزَلْ ناقِصَ العَيشِ زائلَ العَقلِ مَشغولَ القَلبِ، فأوَّلُها: صِحَّةُ البَدَنِ، وَ الثّانِيَةُ: الأمنُ، وَ الثّالِثَةُ: السَّعَةُ في الرِّزقِ، وَ الرّابِعَةُ: الأنيسُ المُوافِقُ [قال الراوي:] قُلتُ: وما الأنيسُ المُوافِقُ؟ قالَ: الزَّوجَةُ الصّالِحَةُ، والوَلَدُ الصّالِحُ، والخَليطُ الصّالِحُ والخامِسَةُ: وهِيَ تَجمَعُ هذِه الخِصالَ: الدَّعَةُ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
There are five things which if one where to lose just one of them it would render his life incomplete, his intellect short-lived, and his heart preoccupied. The first of these is health of the body; the second is security; the third is ample sustenance; the fourth is a compatible companion. [The narrator says], I asked, What is a compatible companion? to which he replied, The virtuous wife, the virtuous son and the virtuous friend. And the fifth one, which sums up these four things, is tranquility.
