بِرُّ الرَّجُلِ بِوَلَدِهِ بِرُّهُ بِوَالِدَيْهِ .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
The parent's goodness towards his child is [tantamount to] his goodness towards his own parents.

بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَاجِبٌ وَ إِنْ كَانَا مُشْرِكَيْنِ وَ لَا طَاعَةَ لَهُمَا فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَل .‏
Imam al-Reḍa (as):
Being good to one's parents is obligatory, even if they are polytheists, but there is no obedience due to them if it entails disobedience to Allah, Mighty and Exalted.

Verily the one whom Allah is most pleased with from among you is the one who is the most generous towards his dependents.

لَا تُمَلِّكِ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ مَا يُجَاوِزُ نَفْسَهَا فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَنْعَمُ لِحَالِهَا وَ أَرْخَى لِبَالِهَا وَ أَدْوَمُ لِجَمَالِهَا فَإِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ رَيْحَانَةٌ وَ لَيْسَتْ بِقَهْرَمَانَة .
Imam Ali (as):
Do not assign to a woman a matter that is beyond her capability and strength, for this is more prosperous to her state, more fitting for her temperament and more enduring for her beauty. Verily a woman is a flower, and she is not an administrator.

The most faithful of the believers are those who are the moat good-natured and the kindest to their family and I am the kindest of you to my family.

لَا تَحْمِلَنَّكَ الشَّفَقَةُ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ وَ وُلْدِكَ عَلَى الدُّخُولِ فِي الْمَعَاصِي وَ الْحَرَامِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ يَوْمَ لا يَنْفَعُ مالٌ وَ لا بَنُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيم .‏
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Let not your affection for your wife and children incite you to commit sins and forbidden acts; verily Allah says in the Quran, ‘The Day when neither wealth nor children will avail, except for him who comes to Allah with a sound heart.’

الْمُؤْمِنُ يَأْكُلُ بِشَهْوَةِ عِيَالِهِ، وَ الْمُنَافِقُ يَأْكُلُ أَهْلُهُ بِشَهْوَتِهِ.
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The believer eats according to the desire of his family, while the hypocrite makes his family eat according to his own desire.

لَا يَنْبَغِي لِمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَالِماً أَنْ يُعَدَّ سَعِيداً وَ لَا لِمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ وَدُوداً أَنْ يُعَدَّ حَمِيداً .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
He who is not knowledgeable must not be deemed prosperous, and the one who is not affectionate and loving towards others must not be deemed praiseworthy.
