ابوالحسن کافىالدین على بن محمد بن حسن بن لیثى واسطى، واعظ، شاعر، از علمای قرن ششم، نویسنده کتاب عیون الحکم و المواعظ.او از شاگردان شیخ رشیدالدین ابوالفضل شاذان بن جبرئیل قمى است. علامه مجلسى در جلد 78 بحار الانوار مىگوید: شیخ على بن محمد لیثى واسطى در کتاب عیون الحکم و المواعظ و ذخیرة المعتظ و الواعظ، کلمات امیرالمؤمنین(ع) و کلمات بقیه ائمه اطهار(ع) را آورده است.
