كَيْفَ يَكُونُ مِنْ أَهْلِ اَلْعِلْمِ مَنْ دُنْيَاهُ عِنْدَهُ آثَرُ مِنْ آخِرَتِهِ وَ هُوَ مُقْبِلٌ عَلَى دُنْيَاهُ وَ مَا يَضُرُّهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا يَنْفَعُهُ

:

"Jesus (PBUH) said: How could he who prefers his material life to his afterlife be counted amongst those with knowledge? He who embraces his material life and prefers what is harmful to him over that which is beneficial."

بِحَقٍّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ كَمَا نظر [يَنْظُرُ] اَلْمَرِيضُ إِلَى اَلطَّعَامِ فَلاَ يَلْتَذُّ بِهِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ اَلْوَجَعِ كَذَلِكَ صَاحِبُ اَلدُّنْيَا لاَ يَلْتَذُّ بِالْعِبَادَةِ وَ لاَ يَجِدُ حَلاَوَتَهَا مَعَ مَا يَجِدُهُ مِنْ حَلاَوَةِ اَلدُّنْيَا

:

Jesus (PBUH) said: Let me reveal a truth to you: Just as a sick man gazes upon delicious food but cannot savour it due to his extreme pain, the worldly man cannot savour the sweetness of worship due to his love for money.

Jesus (RBUH) said: Do not gaze at the possessions of worldly people, for the glitter of their riches will take away the light of your faith.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

تَمَثَّلَتِ اَلدُّنْيَا لِعِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ فِي صُورَةِ اِمْرَأَةٍ زَرْقَاءَ فَقَالَ لَهَا كَمْ تَزَوَّجْتِ قَالَتْ كَثِيراً قَالَ فَكُلٌّ طَلَّقَكِ قَالَتْ بَلْ كُلاًّ قَتَلْتُ قَالَ فَوَيْحَ أَزْوَاجِكِ اَلْبَاقِينَ كَيْفَ لاَ يَعْتَبِرُونَ بِالْمَاضِينَ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

One day, this world appeared before Jesus (PBUH) in the guise of a beautiful, celestial woman. Jesus asked her: How many times have you married? She said: Numerous times. He asked: Did they all divorce you? She said: No, I killed all of them! Jesus said: Woe to your current husbands! How could they not consider the fate of those who have come before them?

Imam al-Sajjad (as):

Jesus (PBUH) said: This world is no more than a bridge; so cross it and do not spend time adorning it.

"Jesus was asked: Teach us just one action by which God will love us. Jesus replied: Hate the world and God will love you."

قَالَ عِيسَى اِبْنُ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ : اَلدِّينَارُ دَاءُ اَلدِّينِ وَ اَلْعَالِمُ طَبِيبُ اَلدِّينِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ اَلطَّبِيبَ يَجُرُّ اَلدَّاءَ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ فَاتَّهِمُوهُ وَ اِعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ غَيْرُ نَاصِحٍ لِغَيْرِهِ.

Imam Ali (as):

Imam Ali (AS) said: Jesus the son of Mary said: Money is the plague of religion while scholars are its physicians. Whenever you see a physician drawing the plague upon himself, beware of him and know that he is not an adviser of anyone.
