الإمام الكاظم (عليه السَّلام):

عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عليه السلام، قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عليه السلام: يَا سُلَيْمَانُ، أَ تَدْرِي‏ مَنِ الْمُسْلِمُ؟ قُلْتُ: جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ، أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: الْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَ يَدِهِ.

Imam al-Kazim (as):

Imam al-Sadiq (as) said, 'O Solayman, do you know who a Muslim is?' I replied, 'May I be your ransom, you know better.' The Imam (as) said, 'A Muslim is one from whose hand and tongue people feel safe.'

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

أَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ أَقْبَلَ قِبَلَ‏ مَا يُحِبُّ اللَّهُ- عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ قِبَلَ مَا يُحِبُّ؛ وَ مَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِاللَّهِ عَصَمَهُ اللَّهُ‏؛ وَ مَنْ أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ قِبَلَهُ وَ عَصَمَهُ لَمْ يُبَالِ لَوْ سَقَطَتِ السَّمَاءُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ، أَوْ كَانَتْ‏ نَازِلَةٌ نَزَلَتْ عَلى‏ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ، فَشَمِلَتْهُمْ بَلِيَّةٌ، كَانَ فِي حِزْبِ اللَّهِ بِالتَّقْوى‏ مِنْ كُلِّ بَلِيَّةٍ، أَ لَيْسَ اللَّهُ- عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي مَقامٍ‏ أَمِينٍ‏»؟

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Anyone who turns towards [and dedicates himself to] what Allah loves, Allah too will turn towards what he loves, and one who holds fast to Allah, Allah will protect him, and when Allah turns towards what someone loves and protects him, then he would not care even if the sky falls upon the earth or a calamity befalls its inhabitants and afflicts them all, for he, due to his God wariness, will be among the members of the party of Allah feeling safe from any affliction. Does Allah not say in the Qur'an: "Indeed the God-wary will be in a secure place."

طُوبَى لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ شُغُلٌ شَاغِلٌ وَ النَّاسُ مِنْهُ فِي رَاحَةٍ وَ عَمِلَ بِطَاعَةِ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ.

Imam Ali (as):

Blessed be the one whose own self is enough to preoccupy him, who people are at ease when with him [feeling safe from him] and who observes obedience to his Lord, glory be to Him.

You should be at the time of trouble like a baby camel, neither can it be mounted [and overcome as a result], nor can it be milked [and taken advantage of].
