Hadiths Of The Best Act of Worship

ما عُبِدَ اللّهُ بشيءٍ أحَبَّ إلى اللّهِ مِن إدْخالِ السُّرورِ على المؤمنِ .

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):

Allah has not been worshipped by any means better than bringing happiness to a believer.

إنّ اللّهَ تباركَ و تعالى علَى الإناثِ أرأفُ مِنهُ علَى الذُّكورِ ، و ما مِن رجُلٍ يُدخِلُ فَرحَةً علَى امرأةٍ بَينَهُ و بَينَها حُرمَةٌ ، إلاّ فَرَّحَهُ اللّهُ تعالى يَومَ القِيامَةِ .

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

Allah, Blessed and most High, is more affectionate to females than to males, and any man who brings happiness into the heart of a woman he is related to, Allah will make him happy on the Day of Resurrection.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

كَيْفَ مُدَاعَبَةُ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضاً؟» قُلْتُ: قَلِيلٌ، قَالَ: «فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا؛ فَإِنَّ الْمُدَاعَبَةَ مِنْ حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ، وَ إِنَّكَ‏ لَتُدْخِلُ بِهَا السُّرُورَ عَلى‏ أَخِيكَ، وَ لَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله يُدَاعِبُ الرَّجُلَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَسُرَّهُ.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Imam al-Sadiq (AS) asked Yunus al-Shaybani, 'How much do you jest around with each other?' I said, 'Little.' He said, 'This is not how it should be, for playing is part of good character, and through that you bring happiness to your brother, and the Messenger of Allah (SAWA) would jest with people wanting to make them happy.'

الْخَلْقُ عِيَالُ اللَّهِ، فَأَحَبُّ الْخَلْقِ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَنْ نَفَعَ عِيَالَ اللَّهِ، وَ أَدْخَلَ عَلى‏ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ‏ سُرُوراً.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

People are the dependents of Allah, so the most beloved of people to Allah is the one who benefits Allah's dependents and brings happiness to a family.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):

مَن أدخَلَ السُّرورَ على مُؤمِنٍ فقد أدخَلَهُ على رسولِ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله ، و مَن أدخَلَهُ على رسولِ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله فقد وَصَلَ ذلكَ إلى اللّهِ ، و كذلكَ مَن أدخَلَ علَيهِ كَرْبا.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

Whoever brings happiness to a believer makes the prophet happy as well and whoever makes the prophet happy extends it to God. The same happens when someone brings distress to a believer.

أيُّما مُسلِمٍ لَقِيَ مُسلِما فَسَرَّهُ سَرَّهُ اللّهُ عزّ و جلّ.

Every Muslim who, upon meeting another Muslim, makes him happy, Allah, Mighty and Exalted, will make him happy.

مَن سَرَّ مُؤمنا فَقَد سَرَّني ، و مَن سَرَّني فَقَد سَرَّ اللّهَ.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

Whoever makes a believer happy makes me happy, and whoever makes me happy makes Allah happy.

لا يَرى أحَدُكُم إذا أدخَلَ على مُؤمِنٍ سُرورا أنَّه علَيهِ أدخَلَهُ فَقَطْ بَل وَ اللّهِ علَينا ، بل وَ اللّهِ عَلى رسولِ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

When one of you brings joy to another believer, let him not see it as having only made him happy. Rather, by Allah, he makes us happy, and by Allah, he makes the Prophet (s) happy too.

قال أبو عبد اللّه عليه السلام : كيفَ مُداعَبَةُ بَعضِكُم بَعضا ؟ قلتُ : قليلٌ ، قالَ : فلا تَفعلوا ، فإنّ المُداعَبةَ مِن حُسنِ الخُلقِ ، و إنّكَ لَتُدخِلُ بها السُّرورَ على أخيكَ ، و لقد كانَ رسولُ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله يُداعِبُ الرّجُلَ يُريدُ أن يَسُرَّهُ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
