Imam Ali (as):
Be wary of the opinions given by believers, for verily Allah has made the truth flow from their tongues.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
He who decides to undertake a matter and consults a Muslim man about it [before embarking upon it], Allah will direct him to the most expedient course of action.

لَكِنْ مِنْ وَاجِبِ حُقُوقِ اللَّهِ [سُبْحَانَهُ‏] عَلَى عِبَادِهِ النَّصِيحَةُ بِمَبْلَغِ جُهْدِهِمْ وَ التَّعَاوُنُ عَلَى إِقَامَةِ الْحَقِّ بَيْنَهُم .‏
Imam Ali (as):
Among the obligatory rights of Allah upon His servants is that they should give good advice to one another to the best of their ability, and collaborate for the establishment of the truth among them.

The best of brothers is the one who best provides his brothers with sincere advice, and the worst of them is the most deceitful one.

مُنَاصِحُكَ مُشْفِقٌ عَلَيْكَ مُحَسِنٌ إِلَيْكَ نَاظِرٌ فِي عَوَاقِبِكَ مُسْتَدْرِكٌ فَوَارِطَكَ فَفِي طَاعَتِهِ رَشَادُكَ وَ فِي مُخَالَفَتِهِ فَسَادُكَ .
Imam Ali (as):
One who offers you good advice is being sympathetic towards you, doing you a favor, taking your future into consideration and trying to correct your shortcomings, thus, in his obedience, lies your progress and, in his defiance, lies your corruption.

«مَنِ اسْتَشَارَ أَخَاهُ فَلَمْ يَمْحَضْهُ‏ مَحْضَ‏ الرَّأْيِ، سَلَبَهُ اللَّهُ- عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- رَأْيَهُ».

He whose fellow brother seeks counsel from him but he does not offer him his sincere and objective advise God wrests him of his opinion.

أوحَى اللّهُ إلى عيسَى بنِ مَريمَ: عِظْ نفسَكَ بحِكمَتي، فإنِ انتَفَعتَ فَعِظِ النّاسَ، وإلّا فاستَحيِ مِنّي.
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Allah revealed to Jesus son of Mary, 'Exhort your self with My wisdom, and once you benefit from it then exhort people, and if not, then be ashamed in front of Me.'
