RELATED HADITH

Imam Ali (as)

خَيْرُ الْإِخْوَانِ أَقَلُّهُمْ مُصَانَعَةً فِي النَّصِيحَةِ .

The best of brothers is the one with the least hesitance in offering [harsh] advice.

Imam Ali (as)

لَا تُقْدِمَنَّ عَلَى أَمْرٍ حَتَّى تَخْبُرَهُ

Do not ever undertake a matter until you conduct a [thorough] enquiry into it [and acquire sufficient knowledge about it].

Imam Ali (as)

الِاسْتِغْنَاءُ عَنِ الْعُذْرِ أَعَزُّ مِنَ الصِّدْقِ بِهِ

Not needing to give an excuse is even better than giving a genuine one.

Imam Ali (as)

لَا تَصْحَبِ الْمَائِقَ فَإِنَّهُ يُزَيِّنُ لَكَ فِعْلَهُ وَ يَوَدُّ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِثْلَهُ

Do not associate with a fool because he will beautify his actions before you and long that you too be like him.

Imam Ali (as)

داوُوا الفَقرَ بالصَّدقَةِ والبَذلِ.

Cure poverty with charity and giving generously.

Imam Ali (as)

حَلَاوَةُ الشَّهْوَةِ يُنَغِّصُهَا عَارُ الْفَضِيحَةِ

The sweetness of desire is embittered by the shame of scandal.
