الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
ذِكرُ المَوتِ يُميتُ الشَّهَواتِ في النَّفسِ، ويَقلَعُ مَنابِتَ الغَفلَةِ، ويُقَوّي القلبَ بمَواعِدِ اللّهِ، ويُرِقُّ الطَّبعَ، ويَكسِرُ أعلامَ الهَوى ويُطفِئُ نارَ الحِرصِ، ويُحَقِّرُ الدُّنيا.
La remembranza de la muerte mata los deseos del yo y desarraiga las fuentes de la desatención. Fortalece el corazón acerca de las promesas de Dios, suaviza la actitud de uno, rompe los pilares de las inclinaciones, apaga el fuego de la avaricia y degrada el mundo.
