الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):

اتَّقُوا ظُنُونَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى جَعَلَ الْحَقَّ عَلَى أَلْسِنَتِهِمْ

Imam Ali (as):

Be wary of the opinions given by believers, for verily Allah has made the truth flow from their tongues.

لَيْسَتِ الرَّوِيَّةُ كَالْمُعَايَنَةِ مَعَ الْإِبْصَارِ فَقَدْ تَكْذِبُ الْعُيُونُ أَهْلَهَا وَ لَا يَغُشُّ الْعَقْلُ مَنِ اسْتَنْصَحَهُ

Imam Ali (as):

Vision is not dependent on the eyes, for the eyes may often belie their owners, yet the mind never deceives a man seeking its counsel.

الْمُؤْمِنُ یَحْتاجُ إِلَی تَوْفیقٍ مِنَ اللّه ِ وَواعِظٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ وَقَبُولٍ مِمَّنْ یَنْصَحُهُ

Imam al-Jawad (as):

The believer is in need of three things: success from Allah, an exhorter from within, and a receptive heart that enables him to accept good advice from others.

[لِرَجُلٍ سَأَلَهُ أَنْ يَعِظَهُ لَا تَكُنْ مِمَّنْ] يُبَالِغُ فِى الْمَوْعِظَةِ وَ لَا يَتَّعِظُ فَهُوَ بِالْقَوْلِ مُدِلٌّ وَ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مُقِلٌّ

Imam Ali (as):

Imam Ali (AS) said to a man soliciting advice from him, 'Do not be like the one who... preaches at length but does not accept any preaching for himself; he is tall in speaking but short in action.'

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):

مَا أَهْدَى الْمَرْءُ الْمُسْلِمُ عَلَى أَخِيهِ هَدِيَّةً أَفْضَلَ مِنْ كَلِمَةِ حِكْمَةٍ يَزِيدُهُ اللَّهُ بِهَا هُدًى وَ يَرُدُّهُ عَنْ رَدًى .

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

No Muslim has ever gifted his fellow brother with a gift better than a wise saying through which God increases in his guidance and keeps him away from falling into ruin.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):

وَ صَاحِبُ الْأَمْرِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى أَنْ يَكُون‏ … ُ نَاصِحاً لِلْخَلْقِ رَحِيماً رَفِيقاً بِهِم‏ … ْ وَ لَا يَسْتَعْمِلُ الْحَمِيَّة .

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

He who enjoins good needs to be well-wishing, compassionate and amicable towards people... and must not exercise harshness.
