Imam Ali (as):
It does not behoove a Muslim to take a liar for a brother for he keeps lying until such a time when even his true statements are rejected.

وَ الْخُلْفَ يُوجِبُ الْمَقْتَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَ النَّاسِ قَالَ اللَّهُ [سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى‏] تَعَالَى كَبُرَ مَقْتاً عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَنْ تَقُولُوا ما لا تَفْعَلُونَ .
Imam Ali (as):
The breach of a promise brings about Allah’s hatred and that of people. Allah, glory be to Him, has said, ‘It is greatly hateful to Allah that you should say what you do not do.’ (Qur'an, 61:3)

ثَلاثَةٌ لا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللّهُ يومَ القِيامَةِ و لا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَ لَهُمْ عَذابٌ ألِيمٌ : مَنِ ادّعى إمامةً مِنَ اللّهِ لَيسَتْ لَهُ ، و مَنْ جَحَدَ إماما مِنَ اللّهِ ، و مَنْ زَعَمَ أنّ لَهُما في الإسلامِ نَصيبا .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Allah will not speak to three types of people on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and there will be a painful punishment for them: one who falsely claims the position of Imama [i.e. Leadership] endorsed by Allah, one who rejects an Imam endorsed by Allah, and one who assumes that these two have any share in Islam.

لا دِينَ لِمَن دانَ بطاعةِ مَن عَصَى اللّهَ ، و لا دِينَ لِمَن دانَ بِفِريَةِ باطلٍ على اللّهِ ، و لا دِينَ لِمَن دانَ بجُحُودِ شَيءٍ مِن آياتِ اللّهِ .
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
One who subjects himself to the obedience of someone who disobeys Allah has no religion, and the one who subjects himself to attributing a lie or falsity to Allah has no religion, and the one who subjects himself to denying any of Allah's signs has no religion.
